With our residence housing, intense curriculum, and emphasis on community, you will bond quickly with your fellow classmates, but it’s not all work and no play at Augustine! We encourage our students to take a common rest in the week to recharge with many activities from which to choose, whether it’s relaxing at home, going out to catch a movie, or planning a group outdoor excursion.
We will have weekly community meals to which we invite all students, staff, professors, and their families to come enjoy a home-cooked meal and rich discussion together. There will be regular joint worship opportunities, although each student is also encouraged to worship on Sundays at one of the many healthy churches in the area. Monthly movie nights in professors’ and board members’ homes will be a feature where we gather to see movies worth watching, as well as to enjoy discussion and debate accompanied by tasty snacks.
Blacksburg offers small-town life with some big-city amenities. We will have class outings to events such as plays and concerts at the local university theatre, as well as adventures in the beautiful surrounding mountains and countryside. There are a myriad of eateries and coffeehouses of various categories, and in case you have dietary restrictions, know that Blacksburg is a haven for gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and other specialty diners.
