Our Vision

By teaching men and women the best of the great heritage of western wisdom,
by educating the whole person — the emotions, affections, and imagination, not just the analytical mind,
and by participating in a community of Christian scholars who pursue wisdom, virtue, and meaning,

we seek to form a culture of men and women
who know how to ask the right questions,
who are equipped to continue to learn and grow into the likeness of Jesus Christ,
who remember and are formed by the best of the past,
who can restore what has been lost, pass it on to the next generation and,
with the Holy Trinity,
create the future.

WHY ATTEND AUGUSTINE COLLEGE?

At a typical college or university:

  • You will spend 4 years of your life and $100,000.00.
  • You will take 21 years to pay your loans back.
  • You have less than a 50% chance of getting a job in your field afterwards.
  • You will take at least 40 different classes and few if any of them will relate to each other.
  • You can remain pretty anonymous—lost in the crowd—if you want to.
  • You will have professors for whom teaching is not the main goal.
  • On average, 60% of Christian students will quit attending church and probably not attend after graduation.

It might make more sense to join a college where:

  • You will spend $8,500 on tuition.*
  • Your professors will help you discover the meaning of life.
  • Your professors will help you discover what God created you to do during your short time on Earth.
  • You will learn how the last five thousand years of history, art, science, philosophy, literature, music, and God’s incarnation and revelation fit together.
  • You will learn where the human race went wrong and how to make it right again.
  • You will feel the beauty of truth and understand the truth of beauty.
  • You will be part of a small Christian community of truth seekers.
  • You will learn from professors who teach out of love of the subject and love of the student.
  • You will lay a sure foundation for your future education and role in life.

GUIDING SCRIPTURES

Colossians 2:2–3

My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Revelation 21:1-5

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.
